How to Easily Make a Travel LEGO Case

Ellis has been obsessed with her LEGO Duplos lately. Her intense focus on it entertains me to no end and it gives me a nice break when I need her distracted during the day. However, she has been terrible when we go out these days—she has 0 patience for anything and just wants to walk everywhere, especially in restaurants when we just want to sit and eat.
I decided to try this out. LEGOs on the go to keep her entertained when we need it in a simple little case. I did find LEGO travel cases in my search, but they were either for the “big kid” LEGOs, the cases were huge, or cost $50 or more. This little DIY project cost less than $20!
Supply List:
LEGO baseplate (that’s big enough to fit into your pencil case). I got a multipack since it was the only kind that fit, but I figured she’d use the other plates when she’s playing at home.
Super glue or hot glue gun.
LEGO Duplo blocks (if you don’t already have them!).
Glue the baseplate on the inside of the pencil case and let it sit for 24 hours. Make sure you leave the pencil case open so the smell of the glue doesn’t get trapped in the case. You can also glue it on the top of the pencil case if you want more room for more blocks on the inside. I chose the inside to help balance the weight of the case better. Your choice!
