Travel Wedding Theme - the Guestbook

One tip I can offer any bride-to-be is to pick a theme (or general concept) before you nail down any plans. It sets your foundation for the rest of the experience and helps you make decisions a lot faster - and lets you focus while sifting through the overwhelming Pinterest ideas.

For us it was simple. We LOVE to travel. Every unforgettable trip I experienced was with him by my side and we plan to continue our travel adventures together. Our wedding theme was triggered by my guestbook idea. I wanted something different that would be used 10 years down the road rather than being stored away and forgotten. Enter the push-pin map.

I ordered our map here on Etsy and then purchased the colored pins separately.

Pin Color Meanings:

  • White - where we've been together.

  • Lavender - where we should go together.

  • Red - where something significant happened (i.e. got engaged).

Guest Book Rules:

  • Pick a city & put a lavender pin in it!

  • On a postcard write the name of the city and country, why we should travel there, and of course, sign your name!

  • Place postcard in the box.

We received so many compliments from this idea and many guests submitted multiple postcards, adding to our collection of trip ideas. Plus, it made our thank you notes a lot less repetitive. I'll be posting more fun wedding stuff soon!

P.S. A HUGE thank you to our amazing wedding photographers, Briana & Brian from Macon Photography, for capturing these images and our special day.
