Living Room Tour

I can honestly say this is the first NY winter that has FLOWN by since I moved here. Granted it has also been the most mild of winters, but still... here's to an even warmer spring! We have definitely been busy these past few months and I can FINALLY show off some updates to our new home. We are in no way "put together" and still have a lot of projects to complete (actually start), but this whole homeowner thing is pretty cool.

If you can't already tell, we're pretty big fans of West Elm. It's kind of a problem. Anyway we decided to go for more of an industrial/mid-century modern look for our main floor. We purchased two of the same couch that can be rearranged different ways for multiple looks. Also, without the backings they can become beds which makes life easier when we have a lot of guests over. Our wedding guest book was the first to go on the walls and I love it!

One of my favorite pieces in the industrial storage table. It's so versatile - it hides our multiple remotes and magazines and also acts as a desk/table when opened. It was the only reason we even went to West Elm for furniture... and then walked out with the entire living room floor model (no regrets). Our entertainment console was from our old studio. It's Ikea and I love it. Whoever said you outgrow Ikea one day is insane.

Our living room leads right into our dining room and kitchen (pictures coming soon). Our table/chairs are hand-me-downs. Richard thinks they're too "country," but I have plans to modernize them. I like the size and I'm not one to throw something out if I can give it new life. So look out for updates! Our "bar" is just a quick fix until Richard gets his "real" bar when we can afford it. Our goal is to turn the interim bar into a coffee station so we have more counter space in the kitchen (and to relieve my coffee cup obsession).

Living Room Next Steps:
- Painting - lots of painting
- Stone feature wall in the dining room
- Update dining room chairs & table
- Convert bar
