Here Are the Artists in our Music Jar
/Happy November! I’ve been asked a few times if I could share our artist list for our Music Jar that I’ve been sharing on Instagram. Please remember that the Music Jar idea is NOT MINE! I got the idea from Elsie Larson from A Beautiful Mess. She is the mastermind, I’m just enjoying the music.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, once a week, my daughter picks out a popsicle stick from a jar that has a name of a band or artist. That week, we only listen to that artist. The whole point is to introduce your kids (and even yourself) to different music instead of the same stuff we hear on the radio. By the way, you can also do this with pieces of paper. I chose popsicle sticks because they’re easier for my 1-year-old to grasp and not tear a part.
I decided to curate a Spotify playlist (see below) from this idea with four of our favorite songs from each artist. I add new ones at the end of each week.
Before I get to the list, you should know my taste is pretty eclectic, ranging from classic rock to early 2000’s faves (in true millennial fashion). So, you won’t see many of today’s artists. Also, this is not the final list. Once I buy more popsicle sticks, it will inevitably double!
